It’s been a great summer at the lake, but it isn’t over yet. Although it’s been just over 2 years since our last Annual General Meeting (AGM) I am pleased to announce that with the help of our FOCA partners, we will be holding our 2021 AGM on Thursday September 30th from 6:30 to 8:00 PM.
This will be a virtual meeting using the Zoom platform. We chose this date and time hoping that most people may be at home with their computer devices and reliable internet, something that isn’t assured up here at the lake, at least not for many.
As you should be aware by now, the SLCA resumed collecting membership dues this year as we try to move closer to business as usual. Fees remain just $30 and although canvassers did not go door to door again this year, you can easily make payment by eTransfer directly to etransfer@steenburglake.com, or by Paypal online at https://forms.steenburglake.com/Membership.html
Regrettably, many of our past members have not yet renewed so we hope you will take care of that right away. Also, we know that we have many new neighbours on the lake this past year and we would love you to join and participate in your community. As per our by-laws, only paid-up members in good standing may vote and participate in our annual meetings, and only one vote per membership. There is plenty of exciting news to share with you and several key decisions to be made, so I hope you will do your best to take part.
In preparation for our virtual AGM, we will be sending an email to all registered members to confirm that we have your latest and correct email. You should receive this by Monday, September 20th. If you do not receive an email, and believe you should have, you can contact internet@steenburglake.com .
Closer to the date of the meeting, you should then receive an email from FOCA inviting you to join the meeting by Zoom, along with some important background information for your review and a copy of the meeting agenda.
The meeting will only be 1.5 hours and we have much to discuss but there will be an opportunity to to ask questions or raise concerns.
