National Invasive Species Action Week

The Canadian Council on Invasive Species (CCIS) hosted the first National Invasive Species Awareness Week (NISAW), in May 2020, which featured a series of webinars and social media resources promoting Canadians to stop the spread of invasive species. Since then, this event has developed into two weeks each year promoting awareness and action on invasive species in winter and spring (respectively). Both events work collaboratively with organizations across Canada, by sharing important information to support invasive species management efforts in Canada, as well as to encourage people in Canada to take action to prevent the spread of invasive species.
