Canada Day Boat Parade

It’s time to start planning…how will you be celebrating Cananda Day ? Join the SLCA and your lake neighbours with your boat or from your dock! Everyone is welcome to participate in the parade or watch from shore!
*Comment on this thread or message myself or Christiane Langman directly to let us know you will be participating and we will give you a number to put on your boat or dock.
Saturday July 1st @3 pm
*Decorate your boat or dock in whatever way you like to celebrate Canada day! You can have a theme , be creative or funny or patriotic.
Judges will be looking for…
-Most Spirit
-Most Patriotic
-Most Creative
*If you are participating in the boat parade , meet at the boat launch between 2:30 and 2:50 pm, come past the boat launch dock for your photo and instruction for placement in the parade. Please have your number somewhere visible on your boat or hold it up for your picture and make it big enough to see from shore.
*If you are participating from your dock then be sure to have your dock ready to rock by 3pm. Have your number placed somewhere visible to the boats that are passing by so the judges in boats can see them.
*Dave and Christiane Langman in their pontoon boat will be our Parade Marshals and lead you on the route around the lake which should take about an hour or so.
*Parade Route
Parade begins at boat launch and heads westward towards the Butlers and following the shore, continuing on past Pollard’s then straight past Turner’s island on the south side, between Walsh’s and Langman’s islands.
Once past the islands the parade will turn towards the beach and follow the shore along the west side then pass the beach and come back along the east shore.
It will pass between Bateman’s and Lavalee/Zeylka Islands and turn left to the bottom of the bay , down to Austen’s Bay on the east side, past Loon Island to the bottom of the bay and turning westward into the cove beside the headlands.
at the point you can continue on back past the boat launch or head off home to celebrate Canada Day.
